Fearless in February

Posted on February 06, 2017 by Stephanie Hessler

Faith and fear make poor bedfellows.  Where one is found, the other cannot exist.  -Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, one of the best-selling personal achievement books of all time, recognized faith as one of the qualities of highly successful individuals.  He also identified fear as the biggest killer of success. Faith and fear are really opposite sides of the same thing - belief or expectation of something happening.  And since you can only be in one dominant emotion at one time, why not chose faith in yourself?  Most of our fears never happen.

This month, I encourage you to interrupt your fearful thoughts and replace them with faith in yourself.  This simple - albeit not "easy" practice is powerful and can transform your life.  Become fearless!

Very best

Magic in May

Posted on May 13, 2016 by Stephanie Hessler

This is a wonderful day. I have never seen this one before. -Maya Angelou

Would you like some magic in your life?  Every day when you awaken, remind yourself that a brand new day lies ahead of you.  As Maya Angelou writes, you have "never seen this one before."  Approach each day with a sense of awe and choose to make it a "wonderful day."  And you will never get this day again.  Maya Angelou was a poet, author, activist, dancer, singer, screenwriter and professor.  Her capacity to see the wonder in each day is especially meaningful because she survived hardship and adversity earlier in her life.

What attitude will you project today?  How will you spend your time?  Today has never happened before and it will never happen again.  You have the power to shape it into "a wonderful day."

I invite you to welcome magic into each day...Choose to make it a "wonderful day."

Appreciation in August

Posted on August 27, 2015 by Stephanie Hessler

All our lives we are in need, and others are in need of us.  - George Odell

I love these words from the writing of George Odell. The truth is we can accomplish so much more with the support, encouragement and insights of others. It's when we come together that our greatest power emerges. Tapping into and availing ourselves of others' insights, experience, points-of-view and brainpower greatly improves our own.

This is what I've come to know from friendships with my extraordinary girlfriends. I think so fondly of all the times - so numerable I can't even begin to count them - that my girlfriends have encouraged me through challenges (big and small) or with shared insights, knowledge and perspectives that dramatically magnified my own or with celebrations of wins and victories.

And it's important to convey our appreciation of these special friendships in a meaningful way. That's why I created Everyday Greetings for Extraordinary Girlfriends greeting cards. Personalized, hand-written messages stand out in today's high-speed communication.

I'm excited to announce that we'll be launching a Kickstarter campaign next month. I hope you'll support us in growing Everyday Greetings for Extraordinary Girlfriends and share our Kickstarter campaign with your friends. Join our Kickstarter mailing list now and receive a sneak peak into our campaign.

Very best,

Stephanie

Make Someone’s March

Posted on March 19, 2015 by Stephanie Hessler

Write it in your heart that every day is the best day in the year.  (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

You can’t argue with Emerson. It makes sense to try to wake up every day feeling that the day ahead is the best ever. The secret to achieving this can be summed up in one word: gratitude.

But for many of those busy girlfriends in your life—the ones holding down jobs, raising kids, caring for grandchildren or even aging parents—all that ‘mindful gratitude’ doesn’t seem high priority. Plus, now that’s it’s March, those ‘gratitude’ holidays—like Hanukah, Christmas and Valentine’s Day—have passed. And the promise of summer and sunshine are still a ways away.

So March is the perfect time to play the gratitude card (pun accidentally intended). Send one to a girlfriend and make her day—even if it is just a day in March.  And best of all, it’ll make your day, too.  Which is why the best day of the year is actually… (everyday) today!
